Jess and Byron are Engaged!

So we had the pleasure of heading out to Coney Island a couple of weekends ago for a fun-filled night full of fireworks, rollacosters, ferris wheels, Nathan's Hot Dogs and most importantly, an engagement story... Byron and Jess, our NYC best friends, had their first date at Coney Island a long while ago and Byron planned it just right to surprise Jess and propose while we were all at Coney Island. We also met two new friends - Steve and Jen (yes, another Jen) that are long-time friends of Byron and Jess's - they rock! We had a blast and of course, Jess said yes! Here's Coney Island - not the nicest park but they are working on fixing it up...great nostalgic place though - have to visit at least once

We went to the official Nathan's Hot Dog and let me tell you -for those who don't know, there's a law in NYC that all foods at fast-food restaurants must have calories listed beside the item on the menu. Talk about a hugely guilty pleasure - my dog had a mere 500+ calories in it while my cheese fries - brace yourself - had 1200+. No, I'm not kidding!

Here's the Wonder Wheel - this ride was built sometime in the early 1900's - it's crazy the amount of history at this park... Marc wasn't such a fan - what you can't see in the picture below is Marc's hand squeezing my knee almost to the point of pain...he's not a big fan of heights.

Fireworks to end a lovely night outside the city - we had a great time and the firework show was AWESOME! Maybe better than I've ever seen...
