Annapolis for Labor Day
Marc and I decided to get out of the city last weekend and take the pups along on a road trip to Annapolis, Maryland. Marc's Dad is working on a special project there so we thought it would be fun to go down for a visit. We had a blast! So much fun - the weather was a little stinky but aside from that, no complaints. We ate A LOT (but you all shouldn't be suprised by that ), took the dogs to the dog park, did some touristy sight-seeing in Annapolis and Baltimore, saw our friend Randy for a couple of minutes and basically, just relaxed over the weekend! I finally got my hair cut again - super short but Marc likes it and it gives us an excuse to head down to Annapolis every 6-8 weeks so hey, I'm good with that. After this little getaway weekend, I'm happy to announce that I can now cross two more states off my 'states visited' list - Delaware and Maryland! =) Pics from the weekend are below - we really had an awesome time and I can't wait to go back... We almost didn't leave we loved it so much - plus, you just can't be family time these days!
The pups were ready to go once they hopped into the car
This is what Maddie did most of the trip
Passing into Delaware - Dexter posing for his picture, as usual
Welcome to Maryland - Dexter can't wait! He kept his paw on the window and kept whining...can't take passing by all that grass without getting out to play!
Hanging at the dog park - they had so much fun and got tired REALLY quick...
Dexter on the move...
Maddie giving Dex a hard time - she only wants the ball when he has it... You can see her taking a rest below...
She couldn't decide whether to bark her head off at this cute lab or to lick him to death!
Dad and his pups....
Annapolis is of course where the Naval Academy is located - check out the stadium above and the seamen below....hehe - that joke was funny the first time Marc used it. 5 times later - eh - just gets a smirk now around the house. =)
Above is where the Ravens play and below where the Orioles play in Baltimore, of course!
We headed to ESPN Zone to watch the games on Saturday...had a nice time but ESPN Zone has some silly rules about just sitting and watching... GEEZ - they take all the fun out of hanging out and watching your favorite college teams play!
Hung out at ESPN Zone in Baltimore to watch all the college games - they have awesome nachos, YUM!
We went to a great restaurant Saturday night - I think it was called Phillips - it's right on the water in Annapolis. Everyone drives their boats around town to get where they want to go -that's how much water is there! We had a great time just sitting, eating, visiting and watching...
Sunday evening we went to church around 5 and then to dinner - I had some fantastic seafood at one of the great places Dad Magnone has found in this cute little town... We really enjoyed ourselves.
Above was the view from our table - so beautiful...
Went for a nightcap at an Irish pub within walking distance of Dad Magnone's place...so we took the dogs over. Dexter was super excited about Marc's water - so much so that we couldn't keep him out of it!
Breakfast at the local Diner... Double T's wher Marc tried Scrapple for the first time...only one word to describe it - YUCK.
Time to head home - Dexter refused to stay in the back and kept climbing up front where he finally settled in Marc's lap - one paw on the steering wheel...just like any man, always needs to feel like he's in charge! HAHA!
Snoozin' puppies - couldn't leave Maddie in the back by herself so she came up and crashed in my lap...
Curious George - er - Dexter...do you see that look in his eyes SCREAMING what is THAT out there...can we go huh can we go huh can we go?!? LOL!
Back in Delaware... Dexter and Dad ruling the road!
And....we're back! This is from New Jersey about to head into the tunnel, Manhattan in the distance...what a beautiful city.
We had a great trip and can't wait to go back - hopefully much sooner than later!
