More Hurricane Ike Pictures - From the Salters Home
Here are some shots that my Mom sent me from my home in Mont Belvieu - not too much major damage aside from the need for a new roof... What a mess though!? Glad everyone is safe - love you Mom, Dad, Grandma and Bailey...thanks for updating us with the pictures.
This is our neighbors across the street - the water you see in the back yard is overflow of a river that runs behind their house. On the other side of the river is Eagle Pointe Golf Course - for those of you who know that area. Anyway, normally you cannot see anything but grass from the road, would never know there is even a river back there because there is a large bank leading down to it.... My point - the water is WAY up.
This is our next door neighbors' place -tree broke and fence down in the back of the top picture. Below you can see the downed part of the fence laying in a giant puddle/lake of water in my Mom and Dad's front yard...
The tree above is from the side of our house and the shot below is also a shot of the back fence that has been blown apart...
Lots of branches in the backyard - several landed on our pool equipment... Let's hope it all works when we try to turn it on.
Mom and Dad need some siding repair and a new roof...look closely at this roof picture below and you'll see that there are A LOT of shingles missing...
Pool is a mess - hence the hope that the system works when we turn it on so it can be cleaned out relatively easily... The fence below is from the other side of my parents house - it has also been blown over.
This tree is from our neighbors back yard and landed on the fence and the storage building in our back yard. That's Bailey's kennel (our yellow lab) where the chain link fence is... She stayed inside the house with the family for the big storm and this is what her home looked like after Ike!
Saved my favorite picture for last...doesn't she look like a happy dog, even though her house and yard are a mess!? =)
