Thank You

Just a quick bit of thanks to those who made me feel extra special on my big b-day. 27 and counting...man, I'm getting old. =)
Marc...thanks for all the sweet surprises and cards that you left for me; the flowers were my favorite, can't beat sunflowers AND roses... I love you - can't wait to spend my forever with you.
April...you are awesome! Thanks for an excellent lunch with fabulous fish, conversation and a piece of to-die-for chocolate cake. It was just what I needed and I'm so glad I got to see you and catch up. Thanks for being such a sweetheart - always!

Jen...my twin! Can't think of a better way to end my day than crawfish and baseball...plus ridiculously goofy and fun conversations that only the two of us can have. You always make me smile, without even trying - thanks for making last night relaxing and special.

Catching Up....

Haven't written in awhile - things have been hectic. Never know when life is going to throw you for a loop...things have been a little crazy on my end. Let's start with fun pictures from my night with Jake and Adam... Adam came into town to visit and we had a blast hanging out and remembering old times - and making fun of each other, as always. I got to hang with Jake and Dee too for the first time and also the fabulous Val Studdard - it was great to see everyone. Here are some fun pics...

Next on my list of things - Just Energy, my new and fun-loving energy company, has combined efforts with Energy Savings Group, an energy company out of Quebec, Canada. What does this mean for me? Well, it means that we just went from a company servicing around 20,000 customers in only the Texas area to a company that now will handle a volume of over 1.5 million and will have offices in Canada as well as New York, Indiana and a few other places. Crazy, right? In other words, "Reliant Who?" It also spells out lots of excitement and opportunity, I hope - I'm looking forward to seeing where we go from here.

Also worth mentioning was the annual family trip to New Braunfels - Marc and I went up for this past weekend and had a good time, though it was too short of a trip, for sure. Mom and Dad are up there for 10 days - we were there about 48 hours. The river was a bit cold and the sky was overcast on Saturday - aka float day.... so, we just relaxed. Went to play in Gruene a little while at Gruene Days and ate way too much - not like that's abnormal for a trip to New Braunfels. Our last stop on the way home Sunday was...the outlet malls in San Marcus, woohoo! I spent a little (or a lot) of money on a few things and managed to fall in love with a purse that I bravely walked away from - even though the whole way home, I wished I could walk back and snatch it! See picture - just imagine it in avocado green- it is the perfect purse, on sale for half price.....oh, I could just kick myself! Live and learn I guess...I do promise that this will be my next big purchase - maybe some birthday cash will be helpful... If any of you could see my current purse, you'd understand why I'm so excited abou getting a REAL and GOOD leather purse - one that won't fall apart or look like it's been run over after use for less than a couple of months.

Last on my list of topics, just a little bit of venting... Over the past two weeks, several things have happened that have reminded me to always keep my eyes open and never get too comfortable in the world in which I live. It's scary to think that some things can change - that everything can change - in a seconds time, but it's also reality. Sometimes I find myself lost in the life I am living - happy and oblivious to the changes around me. I have to stop that because as I'm learning, sometimes things are changing and there are issues just under your nose that you think aren't there...issues that a happy and content girl like me finds a way to be oblivious to. Maybe God's trying to remind me that it's not always roses on this side of the "grass is always greener"... Just a word of advice for the day - keep your eyes open and remember that things change, whether you want them to or not. It's how you decide to react that makes you strong enough to deal with the issues you face. Someone recently said to me that they needed to be true to themselves - I agree. It's important to be true to yourself - never settle for anything less. Just keep in mind that being true to yourself should also match up with being true to the ones you love - if not, you might need to evaluate those two puzzle pieces and make sure they fit.

OK, enough of my soap box - hope everyone has a great week. Brother - I'll miss you; have a blast in New Mexico and please be careful!

Brag Bit

My little brother, who I love dearly and am very proud of, made THREE Bs AND TWO As on his engineering finals this semester at Texas A&M! Whoop!

I'm so proud...and jealous. I don't think I ever made anything higher than a B on any of my finals in college - I skated through on extra credit, lol!

Anyway, I'm very proud of him - he's worked really hard... Just wanted to share the good news!

Thanks and Gig 'Em.

Weekend Fun

This weekend was great - I finally got to pick up my wedding dress and had a blast with my Mom on our mother/daughter shopping day. We found a beautiful dress for my mom to wear to the wedding - she looks so pretty in it. I can't wait to see her and Dad, all dressed up!

We also got to go see Erika and play with the newest little Alman... Eliza is beautiful and Isabelle is definitely going to be a great Momma's Helper. Erika and Daniel are going to have the hands full with those two beautiful little girls! Here's a few pics - we couldn't get Isabelle to keep her eyes open but she still looks super cute...

Yes, that's right, you heard me correctly - we did our best to act as crazy as we used to...we were pretty successful (see pictures below!). We had a great time and I hope you had a very Happy Birthday Ms. Ruthie - we missed one member of our core crew, ERIKA - wish you could have been there... Enjoy the pics!
