Stephenson's in NYC

My sister and brother (both from anotha motha - haha!) came into town last weekend for a little NYC vaca and family time. Friday, May 16th was Leslie's birthday and we 'went all out' full on with limo and dinner at the best steakhouse in...well...maybe America (or so I'm told...I don't do steak so I have to trust the experts). Who else might have been dining at Peter Luger's with us but Ms. Uma Thurman - great celebrity sighting - kudos to Bill for having his celebrity radar turned on. After we rolled out of the restaurant on Friday (uhm - not rolled in the cool guy way - rolled in the we ate so much they had to roll us out) we headed to Junior's, of course - now I know you are all surprised (yeah, right) but up to this point we have had tremendous compliments on the desserts at JRs so until we get a complaint, I think it's going to continue being our 'go to' place. After JRs we had to head home so that the majority of us wouldn't throw up - instead we all just passed out. Saturday we went to the Yankees game and had the pleasure of catching an afternoon cocktail with none other but the newest friends of ours to be married, Jason and Linh Deitz. They were in town to visit friends so we all met up at Tavern on the Green and caught up a little. The rest of the weekend was just lots of hanging out and visiting - we had a great time hanging with Bill and Les and our niece/nephew to be - we should know in the next week whether we get to spoil a Miss or Mr Stephenson...for now, Peanut is the name we like to say while we talk to Leslie's stomach. Jason and Linh, so awesome to see y'all as well - we miss you two! Thanks for a great weekend everyone - enjoy the pictures!

Fetching

Dex has finally learned to 'fetch' and he's OBSESSED! We throw the ball for hours in our tiny little apartment and he runs and runs and runs - cannot get enough. Maddie is working on the fetching concept but really has more fun attacking Dexter as he's trying to bring the ball back... Never a dull moment at the Magnone household, trust me. Pics below should show you how devoted Dexter is to his new hobby. =) Believe it or not, this is a natural occurrence around the house - guess he doesn't want Maddie stealing his ball while sleeping.

How do you like this "don't you dare take my ball" face? Notice Maddie closing in in the right corner....

The Teagues Visit To NYC

Zach and Jill came to visit this past weekend and we really had a great time! Talk about a low maintenance group, I think we could have just hung out around our place the entire weekend and they would have been happily content. Friday night we went to Mesa Grill - Bobby Flay's restaurant and it was SOOO good - can't wait to go back. It's the closest thing to true southwestern food that I've tasted here in NYC. Went to Junior's and Times Square after and then crashed because we were all exhausted. Jill, the die-hard Yankee fan had to get some sleep before the big game on Saturday! We were lucky enough to be with Jill on her first trip to Yankee Stadium - I think she really enjoyed it, I know we had a great time and plus, they won! Can't beat that! We picked up a couple of things for the dogs - even though I'm risking some serious making-fun-of moments, the pictures are too cute not to share so check out our Yankee dogs below. The rest of the weekend we just chilled - headed to Little Italy for dinner and walked around town, sight-seeing. It was a great weekend - we can't wait to have you both back in town!

Connell's Celebrity Sightings in H-Town

Michelle emailed me last week with these pictures from Central Market because she knew how much I'd appreciate them. I'm a closet Food Network junkie, most of that can be blamed on past roomies (ah-hem - Erika) and my parents who are die-hard Emeril fans and love the Food Network. I just like to watch and see all the things I wish I could cook but would probably never turn out - although, lately I've been cooking lots more than before...getting better and better. Ask Marc - he holds nothing back when it comes to my cooking, trust me! =)

Enjoy these pictures of Michelle with her famous friends!

My Number One

So - My number one favorite band of ALL TIME was in town at the Nokia Theater playing in concert this past Wednesday. You'll be shocked to hear I'm talking about Third Eye Blind - yes, I know - they are old school. I just can't help it - TEB stole my heart long ago as a teenager at Barbers Hill High School in little ol' Mont Belvieu, TX and still to this day I'm a die-hard fan. They rock ALWAYS and their songs seem to be timeless - I could jam to them now just as much as I did back then. Crazy how the music of the past always stays with you even though life continues to move forward day after day. Never would I have thought that one day I'd be watching them play in Times Square while living in New York City! Good news for any TEB junkies still left out there (and I know you're out there because both shows were SOLD OUT!), TEB still rocks out like it's 1997 or 98 or whenever it was I first decided I loved them - ha! Marc wasn't so into going to the show so my new friend Edna stepped up to the plate and we both went and had a great time! Ruth, I hope you enjoyed your phone-call-rendition of Steven Jenkins LIVE - lol! Below are some pictures and a couple of videos, one of a new song and one of an old-time favorite, Motorcycle Drive-By. Uhm, and just in case I haven't made this clear - THIRD EYE BLIND is BACK people - get excited! Wait 'til you hear their new stuff, it's so good... Even I was shocked....I can't wait!
