Doggie Days - Update

Thought I'd post a couple pics of the puppies - they are coming up on 10 months old on June 23rd, can you believe it!?! They are still adorable as ever and behaving pretty well. Maddie is officially offended and/or pissed off by bicycles and most other dogs so it's always fun to go on walks...just never know what you're going to get. Dexter is doing well aside from his occasional park 'incidents' - he's behaving like a good little boy.

Maddie cut her paw recently and was limping around the house so we headed to the vet - all is fine but she's grounded (by the vet) from the dog park so the last couple of weeks have been lots and lots of walks instead of runs at the park... It's actually been really nice - the weather has been ideal and we have a great walk on the piers at Chelsea Piers, overlooking the Hudson. Great views and less than a block from home - can't beat it.

Enjoy the pics - they make me smile - hopefully they'll make you smile too!

LOOK at these dogs posing - they SO know that we are taking their picture...they just sat still and waited while I was getting the camera ready. SO FUNNY!

My smart little babies...

Boudg's Big Apple Adventure

One of my oldest and dearest friends came up to visit over the past weekend with her little brother - Alan and Angi Boudreaux were here from last Thursday until today where we had our sad goodbye downstairs. I hate goodbyes - they stink... They might be my very least favorite thing of all the things that aren't my favorite - did you follow that? We had a blast together - as always... Been friends since the day we were born and will be forever - thanks so much for a great time Angi! New York cant wait 'til your next visit - neither can your friends here in town!

Dinner at Bobby Flay's restaurant - Mesa Grill - all courtesy of Crissi - thank you!!!

Crissi surprised Angi from Texas with a Happy Anniversary cake - not sure of the hidden message in "Elephant Poop"....thats a question for Angi - lol!

Taking the ferry out to Liberty Island and Ellis Island

Statue of Liberty was really cool - although we didn't go up in it... Elevator was broken so we'd have to walk up 150 steps minimum - uhm, no stairs for me, thank you.

Manhattan from Liberty Island

Downtown Financial District

Stuck in the POURING down rain in Little Italy/ChinaTown - We were stuck in a shady shop on Canal Street in this picture where I bought a $2 umbrella that broke while we were still at the shop - so they replaced it with another $2 umbrella that broke on the way home. HAHA!

Me and Angi hangin' with Yellow M&M

My hubby and me at Cowgirl - awesome comfort food restaurant in the West Village

Toasting our fantastic strawberry margaritas to another awesome vacation - the best of friends as always, now and forever!

Introducing Jenn's Top Ten

Jenn's Top Ten - Numero Uno

Top Ten Signs that We are Living in NYC
10. Marc's baseball game is cancelled due to the 'heat wave' and fear of 'heat exhaustion' in the 97 degree weather outside. Apparently New Yorkers have never visited the south during baseball season.
9. Maddie and Dexter are encouraged and applauded for poop/pee on side of road and scrutinized for 'doing their business' in the grass. After all, homeless people sleep on that grass - I should be more considerate.
8. My neighbor is a world famous super model - and I'm not kidding - enough said.
7. Temperature Malfunction Issues - Office space in the winter weather: 30 inside, 35 outside. Office space in the summer weather: 100 outside, 80 inside. Sweat anyone?
6. My 650 square foot apartment recieved a - Wow, you've got so much space! - comment yesterday.
5. The closest post office or mailbox to my office is on the 7th floor of Macy's at Herald Square - the highest people volume store in NYC. This always poses the question - do I REALLY need to mail that today?
4. Today I 'grabbed' lunch at Subway (2 short blocks) and a drink at Starbucks (1 short block) - left office at 12:30 pm - returned at 1:45 pm... I might starve around the holidays - too many people - too long lines.
3. Good Morning America Concert Series is a regular stop in my monthly activities - it's becoming normal to be up at 4am to check out my favorite bands live in concert at GMA around 7:00am or so on a monthly basis - weird.
2. Last night while walking the dogs, I came across the homeless people who normally are sleeping in the sacred grass that Mad and Dex aren't allowed on - this time though, they weren't sleeping, they were having sex. Yes I'm serious, Yes I saw them in the act - and No, I don't want to talk about it.
1. I lived in Auburn, Alabama for an entire year and had 4 friends total that visited - Marc, Adam, Jake and Marisa. I've lived here for less than six months and if my count is correct, have had a minimum of 15 people stay with me/visit our apt - some multiple times. All out-of-state, NYC tourists - er - uhm - what I mean is - friends coming up to visit Marc and Jenn. I can't imagine why I didn't have the same high volume friend/family traffic in Auburn! =)

Hope y'all enjoy the first top 10 - more to come as the opportunity presents itself. Have a great Tuesday!

Inspiration - Happy Father's Day

This is possibly the most inspirational story I've ever seen...read below and then check out the video. This story embodies the verse that my family has been reiterating to me since the day I was born...

I CAN do all things through Him who strengthens me. Phillipians 4:13

Story: A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'. The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'.

They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too.

For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

Father and son went on to complete the race together. View the race below.

To my Dad - I'd do anything for you - even compete in the world's toughest Ironman. Thanks for being my inspiration all these years and for always believing in me. I love you - Happy Father's Day!

HOME is Still Where My Heart Is

We had a great trip home at the end of May - fast-paced and a little painful (especially after PAYING CarMax to take our cars off our hands...) but relaxing too and so nice to be around the friends and family I've been missing all these months. Thanks to everyone who came to 'hang out' on Friday night - for those we missed, promised we'll see you next time around - I apologize for not being the 'life of the party' at Front Porch... I think my system had finally hit a wall and I was in SHUT DOWN MODE. It was so great to be at home with my closests buds - thanks to everyone for stopping to see Marc and me... We miss you all.

As for family time - well it was FANTASTIC!!! Lots of rest and catching up and oh-by-the-way, my baby cousin is officially a high school graduate! Little Ellie Rose isn't so little anymore - she's on her way to Colorado in the fall to become a University of Colorado Buffalo. Congrats Ellie - so glad I was able to be there and celebrate with you. Nothing beats being at home with my Mom and Dad and Brother - it's like old times except now I have a husband which makes time even more fun... Grandparents are doing great - parents are doing great - couldn't have asked for a better weekend - only wish we would have had more time. Mom and Dad are coming up for July 4th weekend - I'm PUMPED!

Enjoy the pics - we really miss all of y'all. NYC is going fantastic - if only we could move our family and friends here, life would be perfect. Wishful thinking - I know...

BY THE WAY...................A huge congratulations to my dear friends Michelle and Alan who are officially engaged! Great job Alan - I think you surprised her, for sure! Lots of luck with the planning process you two - can't wait to hear all the details and be there for your special day. Love you both!

Rachel's Bachelorette Party Bash!

I had a blast a couple of weekends ago as all of my BFF's (well - most of them) came to visit and celebrate Rachel's upcoming nuptials. We painted the big apple red and I had some much needed and much appreciated girl time. Thanks to everyone for being amazing guests and thanks to my husband for letting us girls take over 'home' for a few days... Although I think he may have looked at it as a miny vacation from his wife! =) Just kidding hun - all your help with the dogs and the errand running, etc was perfect - couldn't have done it without you. Rachel, hope you had a great bachelorette party - you deserve it - we love you very much and are excited to celebrate you becoming Mrs. Davis in just a few weeks! Enjoy the pics everyone!
